Site Update Logs

Site Update Logs include changes made to the site. Exceptions to what is listed here includes:

• Very minor changes/typo fixes.

• Changes in weather forecasts.

• Changes to the announcements.

• Changes to the update logs.

All changes other than the exceptions listed above will show below:

June 7th, 2025

• Added a non-severe thunderstorm risk area to the Mid-Atlantic Severe forecasts.

May 3rd, 2025

• Added Winter 2024-2025 Archives under the Archives page.

March 8th, 2025

• The 2024 Severe Weather Tracker has been removed from Severe Weather > Severe Tracker IAD

• The 2024 Severe Weather Archives have been updated to include the 2024 Severe Weather Tracker.

• Many page names shortened/changed:

  • Severe Weather -> Severe

  • Winter Weather -> Winter

  • Historic Weather -> Major Events

• Changed Home Page and a few other Severe pages to a lightning background

• For the season, winter weather forecasting has been disabled and severe weather forecasting is intermittently enabled.

March 1st, 2025

• Significantly improved the Brindle Weather logo.

• Accordingly changed slideshows, Home Page, About/Q&A, and site favicon (including Brindle Weather Blog).

• Additionally, some general design changes were made to the Mid-Atlantic Severe Weather Center in the past month.

January 3rd, 2025

• Renamed "2024 Severe/Hurricane Forecast" (under Severe Weather) to "2025 Severe Season."

• Renamed "Winter Forecast (24-25)" (under Winter Weather) to "Winter Forecast 24-25."

• Removed the 2024 Severe/Hurricane Forecast and replaced it with a notice about the future 2025 outlook.

• Created a 2024 Severe Weather Archive, which can be found on the Archives page.

• Added the 2025 Severe Weather Tracker IAD to Severe Tracker IAD (under Severe Weather).

December 8th, 2024

• FINAL update for the Winter Forecast 2024. See the winter forecast for more details.

November 17th, 2024

• Renamed the "Fire Risk Outlook" page to "Fire Weather."

• Renamed the "Major Weather Event Archives" page to "Historic Weather" and changed some of the description.

• Edited wording on the Issue Form.

• Added Annual Snowfall line chart to the Snow Totals IAD slideshow.

• Revamped "Severe Thunderstorm Forecasting Links 2024" into "Weather Forecasting Links."

• Added "Forecasting Links" page under both Severe Weather and Winter Weather. The Forecasting Links page features the "Weather Forecasting Links" slideshow.

• Revamped the Severe Weather and Winter Weather home page.

• Added separate snowfall requirements for the mountains on the Winter Storm Impact Level (Which can be found on the Winter Weather Prediction Center).

November 14th, 2024

• Reworded the Brindle Weather description on Home page.

• Changed Winter Storm Impact Level requirements for Sleet from 3 inches to 5 inches for "Extreme" level.

• Fixed a few technical errors relating to the Google Search Console.

November 9th, 2024

• 3rd update for the Winter/Fall Forecast 2024. See the winter forecast for more details.

• Added Featured Forecasts to the Home page along with a couple horizontal lines for organization.

• Removed the Severe Thunderstorm Forecasting Links to begin renovations.

October 11th, 2024

• Fixed Brindle Weather Blog link/button + Added Favicon on Brindle Weather Blog.

October 10th, 2024

• Added Brindle Weather Favicon.

October 5th, 2024

• 2nd update for the Winter/Fall Forecast 2024. See the winter forecast for more details.

• Added precip. amount terminology (2024-2025 Winter Storm Tracker) for small amounts of wintry precip. (flurries, dusting snow, glaze ice, and trace sleet + Brindle Weather definitions for each)

• Revamped part of the "About" page and renamed it as "About/Q&A".

• Retired/removed "Regional Weather" page under Severe Weather.

• Retired/removed "Live Severe Weather Slides" page under Severe Weather.

September 7th, 2024 (2nd update)

• Connected Google Site to Domain. You can now type brindleweather.com into your browser to get to the site.

• Renamed the Issue, Suggestion, or Question Form page to Issue Form.

• "Brindle Weather Official" at the top left of the screen now reads "Brindle Weather."

• Changed the Terms/About page to About, along with minor word changes in the about section of the page.

• Swapped the location of Archives and About on the site (About is now below Archives, but they remain the "bottom" 2 pages).

• Small changes to the main text on the Home page (below announcements).

September 7th, 2024 (1st update)

• Removed Short Term Forecasts page and slideshow.

• Changed Short Term Ice/Snow Forecasts (under Winter Weather) to Short Term Winter WX.

• Added new Winter Weather Prediction Center under Short Term Winter WX.

• Added the Fall/Winter 2024-2025 Forecast under the Winter Forecast (24-25) page and changed all applicable wording on the page.

• Replaced the 2023-2024 Snowfall Tracker with the 2024-2025 Winter Storm Tracker under the Snowfall Totals IAD page and changed all applicable wording on the page.

• Changed header image to a snowy image in the wake of (meteorological) fall.

• Resized all slide appearances on this site.

May 24th, 2024

• Small changes to wording of descriptions on several pages.

• Removed 2023-2024 Winter Forecast. Replaced with a notice for 2024-2025 Winter Forecast.

• Added notice about 2023-2024 Snowfall Tracker (it has NOT been removed yet).

April 13th, 2024

• Removed 4/8/24 Total Solar Eclipse Viewing Quality forecast.

• Brindle Weather damaging wind requirements are now 58 MPH+ to match the NWS. This will over time be implemented across Brindle Weather.

• Revamped Severe Weather Forecasting Links and added dozens of useful links.

• Changed Severe Weather Parameters to Severe Weather Forecasting Links

• In all applicable slideshows, mode was changed to spring.

• Changed headings on home page and short term forecasts to lightning (for spring).

• Concluded 2023-2024 Winter and counted snow/ice totals.

• Added Severe Weather Tracker IAD for 2024.
